Andrew J. "Flip" Filipowski

Executive Chairman

 

Andrew "Flip" Filipowski, is one of the world's most successful high-tech entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and industry visionaries. Flip is currently the Executive Chairman and CEO of SilkRoad Equity, and he devotes his expertise, vision, leadership, and entrepreneurial talent to the development of enterprises in the SilkRoad family, including SolidSpace.

 

The former COO of Cullinet, the largest software company of the 1980's, was also the founder and CEO of PLATINUM technology, inc. Flip grew PLATINUM into the 8th largest software company in the world at the time of its sale to Computer Associates for $4 billion dollars, the largest such transaction for a software company at the time.

 

Upside Magazine named him one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Information Technology. A recipient of Entrepreneur of the Year Awards from both Ernst & Young and Merrill Lynch, Flip has also been awarded the Young President's Organization Legacy Award and the Anti-Defamation League's Torch of Liberty award for his work fighting hate on the Internet.

 

 

 

 



James H. Capps III

President

 

Mr. Capps is responsible for the overall vision and strategic direction of SolidSpace, a Managed Services and Collaborative Software company based in Winston-Salem, NC that produces ChatBlazer software. Since founding the company in 2003, SolidSpace has more than doubled its revenue and profitability. With over 1,500 hosted domains, SolidSpace is counted among the top 5% hosting companies in the United States.

 

In 1998 Mr. Capps invested in and joined NetUnlimited, Inc., a technology solutions provider, as Executive Vice President and CTO. He was responsible for all aspects of sales, technology planning and acquisition strategy until 2002, when divine, Inc purchased the company. At divine, he served in the capacity of Vice President of Managed Services (Formerly Data Return, Host One and Intera) and was responsible for overall strategy for the SMB hosting initiatives.

 

Previously, he was Vice President & Division Head at IKON Office Solutions, who recognized Mr. Capps as Division Manager of the Year. Prior to joining IKON, he founded Affordable Computer Solutions (ACS) in 1993, a consulting and professional services firm specializing in LAN and WAN networks, which was later acquired by a Fortune 500 company.


Matthew G. Roszak

Chief Financial Officer

 

Mr. Roszak is responsible for overseeing SolidSpace's financial operations including treasury, finance, accounting, legal, and mergers and acquisitions. He is also managing partner of SilkRoad Equity LLC, a private investment firm that invests in promising high-technology organizations and manages them for growth and profitability.

 

Prior to SilkRoad, Mr. Roszak served as senior vice president of corporate development for divine, inc., which is an enterprise software firm. Previously, he was a principal with leading international investment firms such as Advent International plc and Keystone Capital Partners LLC.

 

During his career, Mr. Roszak has invested and managed in excess of $500 million of equity capital in a broad range of industries, and he also has experience in executing a broad scope of transactions including divestitures; corporate and transactional financing, including private equity, venture capital, mezzanine and conventional financings; public offerings; private placements; and financial restructurings. Christopher Low

General Manager of Pendulab

 

Mr. Low is responsible for business and product development as well as finance and operations of Pendulab. The software company, which he founded in 2001, is the leader in real-time chat and SolidSpace, a SilkRoad Equity company, acquired it in 2004.

 

Prior to the acquisition, Mr. Low was responsible for the overall corporate strategy, product planning and development, as well as marketing and finance of Pendulab. Under his leadership, Pendulab gained over 1,000 customers, which included numerous Fortune 500 companies.

 

Mr. Low, who has nearly 10 years of technical and management experience, also spent several years as a software engineer for Singapore Airlines.
